At DM FollowUp (“DM FollowUp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we respect your privacy and the security of your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal data when you use our services.
DM FollowUp provides a customer follow-up assistant for small businesses that receive customer requests through Instagram DMs. DM FollowUp is operated from Türkiye.
This policy applies to users of the DM FollowUp website, dashboard, browser helper, billing flows, and communications with us.
1. How We Collect Personal Data
We collect personal data through:
- Account registration and onboarding.
- Free plan and Business License setup.
- Dashboard usage.
- Browser helper usage when you choose to save or update a customer request.
- Support communications.
- Website and app visits.
2. What Types of Personal Data We Process
Account information:
- name
- email address
- authentication details
- business name/profile information
- license status and request counts
Saved customer request data:
- customer name
- Instagram username or profile reference
- request notes
- request labels/status
- follow-up dates
- reply drafts
- other information the user chooses to add
Billing information:
When you purchase a Business License, checkout and payment processing are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record and payment provider. DM FollowUp may receive and store limited billing-related information such as license purchase status, payment status, Paddle customer/transaction identifiers, and billing country or tax status where provided by Paddle.
DM FollowUp does not collect or store full credit card numbers or full payment credentials. Those are processed by Paddle.
Technical and usage data:
- device and browser information
- IP address
- log data
- product interactions
- error and diagnostic data
Support communications:
- email address
- messages and details you send to support
3. How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data to:
- provide the service
- create and manage accounts
- provide dashboard and browser helper features
- save customer requests, notes, labels, follow-up dates, and reply drafts
- manage license, billing, and access
- reconcile billing events received from Paddle
- provide support
- improve reliability and product experience
- prevent misuse and secure the service
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and compliance obligations
We do not use saved customer request data for advertising.
4. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:
- Infrastructure and hosting providers (Firebase/Google Cloud).
- Authentication providers.
- Paddle for checkout, payment processing, tax calculation, receipts, one-time billing, payment-related support, and refund handling where applicable.
- Email and support providers.
- Analytics/error monitoring providers.
- Legal authorities where required.
- Business transfers if the service is acquired or merged.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS, authentication, access controls, database access restrictions, and browser helper session controls. Payment details are handled by Paddle.
No system is 100% secure.
6. Your Data Rights
Depending on your location, including Türkiye, the EEA, UK, or other regions with applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent where applicable, or complain to a data protection authority.

7. Data Deletion
Users can delete individual saved customer records where the product supports it. Users can also request account and data deletion by emailing support@dmfollowup.com. Some records may be retained where required for billing, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or disputes.
8. Data Retention
Account data and saved customer request data are retained while your account remains active.
If you request account deletion or if your workspace is closed, your saved customer data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Billing and transaction records may be retained longer where required for regulatory, tax, or legal compliance.
9. Instagram and Browser Helper Data
DM FollowUp does not require your Instagram password. DM FollowUp does not connect to your Instagram account through Meta OAuth, does not store Instagram access tokens, does not read your full Instagram DM inbox, and does not send Instagram messages on your behalf.
The browser helper is designed to make it faster to save customer details while you work on Instagram. It sends information to DM FollowUp only when you choose to save or update a customer request.
10. Cookies and Tracking
We may use privacy-conscious analytics and performance tools to understand how the service is used and improve reliability. We do not use advertising tracking. Essential cookies and local storage are used for login and product functionality.
11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our service providers operate. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12. Children’s Privacy
DM FollowUp is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
